”Mediterranean as it once was”? Yes, the nature is still here and still one of the most beautiful in Europe but how about people living in Croatia? Well, thats another story.
Imagine living in a country with a salary of about 450 – 500 Euro a month (a average bartenders or salesmen’s salary is about 280 Euro) ? This while the prices in Croatia are almost the same if not even more expensive than in Germany, France or some other EU countries where the wages are much higher. The bizarre thing is that Croatian politicians’ salaries went up to the sky even now where the world economic crisis came straight through the door.
The crisis did not struck the Croatian average people very much, mostly because they lived that “way of life” since the war in Croatia. But this story has the other side, as all do. There are plenty of people in Croatia driving Hummer’s, Ferrari’s, Porsche’s and similar luxury cars, unfortunately most of them didn’t come to those luxuries by doing honest business.
Croatia
is like a wild west, with a little difference, you won’t see the “bad”
people on MOST WANTED posters, but you’ll see them on TV, driving mad
cars and living in big villas while the “honest” population is trying
to catch their lives from one day to the other. All I can say is,
“Welcome to Croatia”, “Mediterranean as it once was .. Close one eye, you’ll have great time here !”
